To begin replacing your Yanmar tractor oil filter, find your replacement filters and parts by clicking here.
Once you have all the parts...
1 - Loosen and remove the drain plug.
2 - Allow the oil to drain for several minutes. Be sure that all of the oil has drained from the engine --- because any remaining dirty oil will contaminate the new oil.
3 - Remove the oil filter with a filter wrench or a pair of channel lock pliers. Some tractors may have shields that need to be removed before you can remove the filter. Be sure to remove the old filter gasket. Sometimes when you remove the oil filter the rubber gasket will not come off with the filter.
If you install the new filter without removing the old gasket --- the two gaskets may blow out and suddenly start leaking right away or days after changing the oil.
