There are many questions about when to perform routine tractor maintenance.

We also get a slew of questions asking what needs to be done.
It is time to answer these questions.
First and foremost --- always remember that you may need to adjust your maintenance schedule based on use.
Here are some basic guidelines.
After 50 hours:
Replace engine oil and engine oil filter.
Check and adjust the cooling fan V-belt.
Every 50 hours (after the initial 50-hour maintenance):
Check battery.
Drain fuel filter/water separator.
Every 250 hours:
Check and adjust cooling fan V-belt.
Check and adjust the governor lever and engine speed control.
Clean air cleaner element.
Drain fuel tank.
